Cresco Real Estate has just expanded their services through their latest joint venture opportunity…

Cresco, Continental Realty of Columbus launch property management joint venture

By Stan Bullard, Crain's Cleveland Business (4:30 am, July 22, 2013)

Cushman & Wakefield Cresco in Independence wants to add a property management business and has formed a joint venture with Columbus-based real estate and property management powerhouse Continental Realty Inc. to make it happen quickly.

The two just started the venture with the hiring of Judy Simon, a well-known Northern Ohio property manager, who has been director of asset services at CBRE Group for the last 14 years.

Joseph Barna, a Cresco partner, said the new venture uses contacts and the cross-selling skills of its 18 brokers. Continental Realty will provide its systems and expertise to the venture to assist Ms. Simon in building a management portfolio here.

"We've never provided full-service property management before,” Mr. Barna said. He said the two companies were natural partners because they often work together and are members of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, led by the major international brokerage.

Ms. Simon said she left CBRE because she wanted to prospect for business on her own, which was not her responsibility at CBRE.

David Browning, CBRE's Cleveland managing director, said he wished Ms. Simon well and appreciated her desire to build her own unit.
